Route hits many of the highlights of San Marcos and Rancho Santa Fe.
It avoids uncomfortable Rancho Santa Fe Rd at mile 8 and again at mile 50.
Some dirt is involved to skirt RSF road, which is fun, adventursome, and low traffic. Many roadies will not touch dirt - it is not excessive, really!
Highlights are the Batiquitos Lagoon, The climb over San Elijo/Twin Oaks, Del Dios, and the ramblings of Rancho Santa Fe.
Significant climbing on this route. Take the challenge!
Climbs include San Elijo, Del Dios, Las Planideras, El Secreto, and other minor climbs.
Very pleasant tour of the county, I recommend it.
